A thin layer comes off the front of each tooth so the veneer sits flush rather than looking bulky. It's a small amount, but enamel doesn't grow back, so we make sure you're certain before we start. You'll go home in temporary veneers while the lab makes the real ones, which also gives you a fortnight to live with the shape and tell us if anything needs changing.

The temporaries come off and we try the porcelain in first, so you get to look at them in the mirror before anything is permanent. Once you're happy they're bonded on properly. Then we check your bite, take down anything that feels high and polish the edges.

We'll see you again to check how they've settled and how you're finding them. After that you look after them like your own teeth, because the tooth underneath can still get decay at the gum line. Porcelain holds its colour but it can chip, so if you grind your teeth at night we'll sort you out with a night guard.
